A memoir:
Upon an Evening Spent
at Popeye's Restaurant
Once, I went to
Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen with friends. I approached the cashier
and scanned the menu for anything palatable, ya know?
Approaching the
front, in a tizzy, I asked the cashier “Are the popcorn shrimp here
any good?”
The older
gentlelady that works there replied, simply, “Um... …. well... …
they spicy.”
Then I ate all ten
of those popcorn shrimp and, by G-d, if I can't sum up how they were
in two words: “they
spicy.”
Ultimately, I think
Popeye's should change their slogan from “Popeye's: Love That
Chicken,” to “Popeye's: They Spicy."
